some pet cats, because they’re extremely dominant and tame, have kind of lost their instinct for hunting. they have food, so there’s not really any need for them to go out and exercise the wild side of their food-catching. a wild cat, or a stray, would never leave a pet rat or hamster uneaten.

Isn’t the music from 0:48 – 1:50 from an episode of Hamtaro where one of the hamsters brother came back and had a surprise party and sang that song/tune?
I wonder how they got to be that way.
Maybe if you raise both of them together as babies, the cat is conditioned not to eat it.
