Just got a new hamster, all my other hamsters die really quick! I don’t know what I am doing wrong! The age lengh at the pet store said that 2-3 years. I want him to live longer than that!

Also, start a “vet fund” for her. Just a bit of your money could go there, and then if anything happens, you are prepared. Remember, if you want her to live a long, happy life, go to the vet if needed! Also, carefully observe her after a few weeks of having her, note what she does, and if something major changes, then she might need a vet check-up. In addition to this, make sure she has a constant water source, a wheel to exercise on at all times, and a large enough cage. Make sure her wheel doesn’t arch her back, as that can lead to back problems.

give him healthy food, and not that cheap stuff! and then make sure he always has a lot of fresh water. keep his cage clean. clean it every few weeks.
and then make sure he has toys etc, and make sure he doesnt get to fat. BECAUSE U CAN DIE OF BOREDOM, & MAKE SURE U DONT PUT TOO MUCH STUFFING.
(my friends hamster suffocated and died like that.. ): )
toys as in, things for excercising etc. wheels, balls, something to keep him company. because if anyone gets to fat, or unhealthy they will die faster.

Death is a hard thing, we have all experienced it sometime in our life and mother nature is difficult. But it all depends on what breed you are getting, if it is a dwarf, like the pet store employees said 2-3 years, but on other cases, Syrian hamsters should life 4-5 years. Some good ways to help keep you hamster alive longer, maybe a few weeks or a month or 2, is to really not be loud around it, use a sweet voice when talking to it, because stress put on your hamster makes its’ day of living go down, unfortunately. You can also give it mixture of seeds, pellets, but not to many, because they can be fattening towards them, but use some fresh fruits and veggies to take up some of the seeds placement, if you didn’t already! Also exercise is important, but not if they do it a lot, if your hamster runs onn it’s wheel nonstop for approximately 35-40 minutes take the wheel out and let it get some rest, because he needs to cool down or he will thin in’ and grow starved if not fed food at the right time. And for the basics, refresh food and water everyday at the same time to not stress him and clean him once a week. Why? Because, simple thing like this grow days of you hamsters life and sometimes prevent sickness, aka wet tail. So I hope this helped!

I just got a hamster a week ago and I have some questions.If you can answer them that would be really great.So……..let’s start.What type of food is best for it(It’s a dwarf hamster)?What type of bedding is best for it?What water is best for it(I use pure water)?And do you use soap to clean hamsters?Oh I forgot how do I get my hammy to stop biting?
my hamster has been living for a long time and alll i did was put a bag of food as the beding and keep freash water to him (honey) and but cardbord rolls in his pen and he keeps his theeth cut . i also have a rabbbit i just got her she is a baby but she is fat i do the same thing with her but i dont put the food as beding because i think the rabbit are more messer than the hamsters and her name is nevaeh it is heaven spelled backwords i love that name. hope your hamster the best of luck and wish you the best of luck to with you new hamster.
