***NOT mating, just introduce. The female hamster is 2 months old. White on stomach, the back side is grayish with a brown, and she has a black line going down her back. The male is 11 months. White on stomach, mostly gray and a little brown, and black line going down his back. I believe they are a campbell hamster.
I’m not sure either when they should mate. When is a good time since the girl is young.

Well, Best way to do it… is NOT in either ones cage bc they could get feisty. Do it openly on a bed… Or in a small box. But careful. They’d mate like crazy!
When they meet each other (unless you are just introducing them but are going to keep them in seperate cages) they are going to try to mate. Try just letting them sniff each other and if they seem to get along you can try putting them together but if they dont seem like they are going to get along or dont seem interested in each other then don’t try putting them together.
well, if you aren’t trying to mate them, why are you introducing them?
well, if they are syrians (winter white, fancy, golden, short/long hair, teddy/black bear) they will either mate (if the female is in heat) or fight. since she’s so young, mating would be disastrous. (the litter will be small, weak pups and the mom will most likely kill/eat or abandon the pups)
if they are dwarfs, then i have absolutly no clue since i don’t own any dwarfs, i only pet sit my friends, which are all girls. i imagine that they would attempt to breed.
to introduce syrians, put a male in a box or new cage (not his own, neatral territory is key here). let him get used to that, then put in the female. stay close to seperate them if there’s any fighting.
the best time to mate syrians is between 4 to 6 months. at least, that’s what do.
i would say to put hem in a small to medium sized box and put hem both in it. you will find that they will either be really interested with each other and mate, or they will sniff each other then walk away. don’t introduce them in one of the hamsters territories, as hamsters are usually very territorial unless introduced right away. if they show any signs of mating, put them back in their cages for a while. try again two more times. if they still try to mate, keep them separated. hamsters are typically solitary animals however, so unless you plan on breeding them someday,(which i recommend not doing without someone with experience) i wouldn’t put them together at all.
hope this helped,

they are dwarf hamsters and even though dwarf hamsters prefer company, they only prefer company if brought together from young age which means that in you case, they will fight if you introduce them.
Or else the male will mate her. I do not suggest in introducing them.
Well if it’s a Teddy bear (syrian) wait until they are both over ten weeks of age or they will start fighting and one will get injured
