Is it true that hamsters can eat fruits and veggies?
I heard that a hamster can eat a strawberry, and just recently my friend told me she fed her hamster a carrot. Is this right to feed to hamsters?
That’s wonderful! What about bananas?

I use to feed my hammies stuff all the time. Fruits and veggies help keep them healthy. We had a rat too – she lived 4 years…evidently a long time for a rodent. She loved carrots and brocoli! :)

My daughters hamster loved cantaloupe and any of the melons. Carrots were good too.

Yea. My brother’s old hamster liked lettuce a lot. But don’t give them any dairy products!

Hamsters probably like nibbling on things, and things like carrots can help their teeth!

Yes, I have a hamster and a book on hamsters it says that it’s good to feed them:broccoli
    turnips
    carrots
    chicory
    spinach
    cauliflower (outside leaves and stalk)
    parsley
    *cabbage
    *Brussels sprouts
    *lettuce (not iceberg lettuce)
The only thing they shouldn’t have is any fruits or veggies that came from a can, were frozen or cooked. Raw potatoes are poisonous to them.

Yes. I even used to give my hamster blades of fresh gress every now and then.

Vegetables are very good for hamsters, but under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should you feed them iceberg lettuce. It can give them diarrhea and even, eventually, kill them. You should also avoid uncooked rice.
