As advertised, this wheel is silent. That is the only good thing I can say about it. It is FILTHY!! I clean it twice a week and that is not near enough. My mouse poops in it while running and there is no place for the poop to get out. He just runs in it, getting it all mashed in and gross. I’m going back to the old noisy wire type.

After getting complaints from my roommates on the noise of Max’s wheel (my long haired teddy bear hamster) I sought out the Silent Spinner. Max puts in miles on that thing every night, and none of us hear it at all! Months later and it’s still as silent as the first day I gave it to him. I would certainly reccomend this product.

I am very pleased with this wheel. It is completely silent; I can put my ear right next to it in a room where I can hear a pin drop and only hear the air rush by. It is also very sturdy, with a nice base. You may need to clear bedding away and back fill over it once it is in place to keep it from being uneven.

My hamster has broken 5 of these wheels in less than a year but local pet store only sells this type. They are held together by a small bit of plastic once it breaks that’s it!!!!

This wheel, is as they say, silent. However, the stand for the wheel tends to bang against the bottom of the cage ( glass cages anyway) and I had to tape it down to stop that noise. Also, the wheel’s ball bearings tend to keep the wheel spinning too long and my pet mice are sometimes confused about how to step off. The biggest problem is that if your pet goes to the bathroom while running, this wheel is a nightmare. My mice defecate on the wheel, then urinate, and as you can imagine, it creates a rather large mess. This problem is easily fixed by cleaning the wheel with hot soap and water, but the process gets trivial after doing it every day, and it produces an unpleasant scent in the cage. Deespite this, if your pet does not usually relieve him or herself while running, this wheel is 100% silent and is exactly as advertised. Very sturdy, high quality construction.
